Faith and Family Live! is hosting a weekly account of the Small Successes of motherhood because, "the small successes in our days can add up to one big triumph." Truly, it is in the details of our work, that the depth and beauty of our vocation is revealed. Therefore, in an effort to join these other moms in celebrating our vocation, here are my Small Successes of this past week.
1. I managed to listen to a four year old's ten minute tale, recounting the tedious pursuit of our cat around, under, behind, back around, under... all six bushes in our front yard, and the neighbor's, with each bush obviously needing to be described from root to tip for accurate identification, all while trying to make dinner, hold a baby and distract a two year old, with a smile.
2. I held my sick baby for an hour, despite the laundry, dirty floors and impending dinner preparations, and found the grace to offer up my frustrations and my joy in such intruding cuddles.
3. I enjoyed a cup of tea, flavored with strawberries, lemon, coca powder and a pinch of garlic salt, lovingly prepared by my two little chefs. And we all rejoiced in the value of quality time and pretend food.

Too cute! It didn't sound like such a bad cup of tea, really... ok until the garlic salt. :)
God bless!
